Born in the mind of a swimmer, and strengthened by every challenge faced by those who train every day to surpass themselves.

My name is José Manuel Laurido Huepe, Psychologist, MSc in Medicine and SportSciences, Sports Coach, former national-level swimmer, amateur basketball player, andboxer. With over 11 years of experience working with high-performance athletes, I founded Mentalité in Chile in 2017, with a clear mission: to help competitive swimmers achieve their goals and reach their full potential through mental training.

The idea was inspired by a deeply personal story. During my university years, a closefriend and national team swimmer fell into a deep depression. He had all the talent to succeed, but lacked the professional psychological support he needed. That painful experience planted a powerful question in my mind:Why aren’t there mental health professionals integrated into national sports teams?

That’s when Mentalité came to life—initially focused on aquatic sports, and laterexpanding to a wide variety of disciplines. Over the past nine years, our brand has grown across South America and Central America, working with clubs, federations, and athletes who trust in our approach to sports psychology: human-centered, science-based, ethical, and focused on performance.

And now, Mentalité takes a bold step forward.
Building on our strong foundation and guided by a global vision, Mentalité expands tothe United States, establishing itself in Florida thanks to a powerful partnership with Ignacio Álvarez, former national team swimmer for Chile and Master in Financial Valuation and Investment Management. Ignacio brings business leadership and thesame competitive mindset that defines our DNA, helping Mentalité bring its expertise to new markets.
